Role Overview

As the Director of Human Resources, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for architecting a people-first HR function that supports High Fidelity’s rapid growth and evolving business needs. This is a highly visible role, entrusted with developing and executing comprehensive HR strategies across the entire employee life cycle, from attracting and nurturing top talent to fostering a culture of inclusion, engagement, and high performance. You will champion our values while navigating the unique challenges of a fast-paced, highly regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously refine HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with business objectives and reinforce our company values of integrity, inclusivity, and innovation.
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts, partnering with hiring managers to identify current and future staffing needs, develop compelling employer branding initiatives, and deliver a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention: Build and sustain high employee morale by developing programs that support recognition, well-being, professional growth, and strong internal communication. Analyze engagement data to drive improvements and enhance retention.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the design and execution of performance review processes, goal setting, and feedback systems to cultivate a high-performing, accountable workforce. Coach managers in talent development and succession planning.
  • Organizational Development: Identify skill gaps and lead initiatives around learning and development, leadership training, and organizational design to support current and future business needs.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure company-wide compliance with all Missouri state cannabis regulations, labor and employment laws, and workplace safety standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and proactively address any compliance risks.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, addressing workplace concerns with empathy, fairness, and a solutions-oriented approach. Manage investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Champion DEI initiatives, fostering an environment where every team member can thrive. Develop strategies to attract, retain, and advance a diverse workforce.
  • HR Operations & Analytics: Oversee HR systems, reporting, and analytics to inform data-driven decision-making. Ensure accurate record-keeping and optimize HR workflows for efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or strategic HR management role, ideally within a regulated industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, current employment laws, and regulatory compliance requirements- Missouri state experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.
  • Passion for fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated sectors is an asset but not required.
